Authorities in Sokoto State have confirmed that no casualties were recorded after a US airstrike carried out in Jabo, Tambuwal Local Government Area.
The police area commander in charge of Tambuwal LGA, Muhammed Augie, was at the location of the incident but declined to make direct comments on the airstrike.
He, however, advised the traditional ruler of Jabo, Alhaji Abubakar Jabo, to caution residents against approaching the site or touching fragments and debris from the explosion.
Reports suggest that a number of fragments were picked up by local residents, many of whom are facing hardship due to poverty and the prevailing economic challenges in the state.
