–President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Sunday ahead of his participation in the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), scheduled to commence on Monday.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the presidential aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at exactly 11:30 pm local time.
President Tinubu was received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi;

Other senior government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Muhammed Muhammed, later welcomed the President at his hotel.
Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi from Europe, where he spent part of his end-of-year holiday and held engagements with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, themed “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go,” serves as a global platform bringing together world leaders, policymakers, investors, and experts to drive discussions on sustainable development, climate action, energy transition, and inclusive economic growth.

The visit further underscores the growing diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, while reinforcing Nigeria’s participation in global efforts toward sustainable development.
