The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, as part of measures to monitor and address cyber-related activities ahead of the 31st night religious services.

The Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team, which carried out the arrest, disclosed this in a statement published on the police’s official website on Wednesday.

Although the statement confirmed the arrest, it did not specify the exact allegations against Eshun or the precise conduct being investigated.

“The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a man identified as Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.

“The arrest was carried out as part of ongoing police efforts to monitor and address cyber-related activities, particularly in the period leading up to 31st night religious services,” the statement read.

The announcement followed widespread speculation linking the arrest to recent security warnings against public prophecies or declarations capable of causing fear, panic, or public unrest.

Ebo Noah attracted widespread attention after constructing a large wooden ark and predicting an apocalyptic flood beginning on December 25. He claimed the structure, named the Ebo Noah Ark, was built following divine instruction and warned of a catastrophic three-year rainfall unless people repented.

However, in a video released last week, the cleric said the disaster had been averted after he received a new revelation following days of fasting and prayer. He stated that the vision showed the ark was already full and that God granted additional time to build more arks.

According to the police, Eshun remains in custody to assist with investigations, with no formal charges, bail conditions, or court dates announced so far.

The statement added, “Police sources say Evans Eshun is currently in custody to assist with investigations. Authorities have not announced any formal charges, court dates, or bail conditions.”

The Ghana Police Service urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculation, stressing that any legal action would follow due process and that Eshun remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
