The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and several independent marketers have again lowered the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across filling stations in Abuja.
A check by Daily Post showed that NNPCL outlets in the Federal Capital Territory have adjusted their pump price to ₦915 per litre, down from ₦920, reflecting a ₦5 reduction.
Independent marketers such as BOVAS and MRS have also reviewed their prices, with some selling as low as ₦910 per litre—significantly reduced from earlier rates that climbed to ₦945.
Other stations, including AYM Shafa, NIPCO, Optima, Mobil, Ranoil, and Empire, now sell petrol within the ₦920 to ₦937 per litre range, depending on location and fluctuations in depot supply.
The revised retail prices correspond with declining ex-depot costs from major depots and refineries. As of Wednesday, petrol was sold at the following rates:
₦824.50 per litre at Dangote Refinery
₦823 at Eterna and Aiteo depots
₦822 at BOVAS
This latest downward review by NNPCL comes after two consecutive reductions over the past two weeks, bringing the previous ₦975 per litre pump price down to ₦945.
Recall that the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, assured Nigerians last Friday that the period of nationwide fuel scarcity was over, promising steady petrol availability throughout the festive period.
