JUST IN: President Buhari Appoints New Chief Justice

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to swear Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) today, barring any last-minute changes to the schedule.

iDeemlawful understands that this coming barely after Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad’s resignation due to health issues.

The senior Supreme Court justice at the moment is Justice Ariwoola.

Sources within the presidency predict that he will take the oath of office at 2 p.m. today.

Justice Ariwoola, who was a Justice of the Court of Appeal before being promoted to the Supreme Court bench, was born on August 22, 1958
