iDeemlawfulA building in Offa, Kwara State, has been destroyed following a suspected drone bomb incident that occurred hours after United States President Donald Trump announced that the US military carried out airstrikes against ISIS terrorists in Sokoto State.
A video trending online showed the wreckage of the affected building, with residents filming debris and remnants believed to be from a drone bomb. Locals confirmed hearing a loud explosion before discovering that a structure had been hit.
As of the time of filing this report, security authorities have not confirmed whether the Offa incident was a separate attack or whether the damage resulted from fragments linked to the Sokoto airstrikes.
Recall that earlier on Friday, the Federal Government confirmed ongoing security and intelligence collaboration between Nigeria and the United States following airstrikes that struck terrorist targets in the country’s North West.

According to a statement released on Friday and signed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Nigerian authorities remain engaged in “structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States of America,” to combat terrorism and violent extremism.
The latest US airstrikes follow weeks of warnings by President Trump, who urged the Nigerian government to take urgent action against the alleged genocide of Christians, threatening unilateral intervention if the situation persisted. Trump also redesignated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern.”
Although the Federal Government denied claims of an ongoing genocide against Christians, it has since engaged in high-level security discussions with US officials to address the concerns raised.
