Recall, Federal High Court has order the immediate delete of the provision of section 84(12) of the amended Electoral Act.

According to the court order as seen by iDeemlawful, the court, among others, based its rulings sections 66(1)(f), 107(1)(f), 137(1)(f) and 182(1)(f) of the 1999 Constitution.

The presiding Justice Evelyn Anyadike ordered the Attorney General of the Federation to immediately delete the section from the amended Electoral Act forthwith.

In reaction, the AGF and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami (SAN) has promised to honor the court order.

The ruling came 10 days after the Senate rejected a bill to amend the section as earlier requested by President Muhammadu Buhari.
