In line with its commitment to human capacity and educational development in Kwara State, the Cornelius Olatunji Funmilayo Adebayo Foundation (COFA) has provided funding to sponsor online classes for JSS 3 and SS 3 students preparing for the Junior and Senior West African Examination Exams respectively.
The virtual learning programme is an initiative of the Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG), introduced in response to the shutdown of schools in Kwara South Senatorial District by the state government due to prevailing insecurity in the area.
Announcing the sponsorship, the Foundation said the intervention is intended to lessen the impact of the school closures by ensuring affected students are adequately prepared for the forthcoming examinations scheduled in the coming months.
“No one is oblivious of the psychological trauma the closure of schools in Kwara South is having on our children, particularly pupils of JSS 3 and SS 3, who should be preparing for their WAEC examinations now.

“The state government took a tough, but necessary decision to shut down the schools to forestall security breaches and keep our children safe,” the statement said.
The COFA management also applauded the leadership of KWAYORG for initiating the online classes.
“We commend KWAYORG for this brilliant initiative. This is a noble and creative idea that all well-meaning Kwarans must support to ensure its success. For COFA, we are proud to identify with the youth organization to ensure that our students in Kwara South succeed in their academic pursuits. No cost is too steep to make this happen.”
In a related development, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Engr. Cornelius Adebayo (FNSE), recently concluded visits to key Progressive stakeholders across Kwara State.
The statewide engagement was organised to make up for the cancellation of the Annual Progressives Get-Together earlier scheduled to hold at Oke-Onigbin, the hometown of the convener, Engr. Adebayo.
The Get-Together, originally planned for this month, was deferred to a later date in the year in honour of victims affected by the recent insecurity challenges in Kwara South Senatorial District.
