The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has officially announced the timetable and schedule for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, dismissed earlier reports claiming the electoral body had already released the schedule.
Amupitan stated that the announcement of the timetable complies with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022, as amended.
He disclosed that the Presidential Election will take place on February 20, 2027, while governorship, senatorial and other elections are scheduled for March 6, 2027.
