Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has shared an emotional tribute to two close friends who lost their lives in a fatal car accident in Nigeria last month, opening up about his pain in an Instagram post.
Joshua, who survived the December 29 crash in Ogun State as a passenger, expressed deep sorrow while also appreciating the outpouring of support shown to the families of the deceased, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.
In the message shared on Thursday, the former boxing champion reflected on the shock of their passing and spoke about the impact they had during their lives.
He wrote, “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are. I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.”

Joshua acknowledged the emotional weight of the loss, especially for the families left behind, stating;
“100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”
Joshua recently spoke about the tragic deaths of his friends during an emotional discussion with UFC fighter Kamaru Usman.
He explained that the reality of the incident still feels unreal, saying;
“One was in the front, and one was behind him, on the right side. They both passed away. It still hasn’t sunk in. It still hasn’t hit me yet.”
