The Nigeria Police recruitment application is currently open. The Police Service Commission (PSC), working in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has begun the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables and Specialist personnel following approval by President Bola Tinubu.
The exercise is intended to boost internal security and enhance the operational strength of the Nigeria Police Force across the country.
The online application portal will be accessible from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026, and all interested and eligible Nigerians are required to apply within the stated timeframe. The recruitment process is free of charge and strictly conducted online.
How to Apply for Nigeria Police Recruitment
Interested candidates are advised to carefully follow the steps outlined below to successfully complete their application.
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and should be physically and mentally sound. Candidates are required to be of good character, free from financial liabilities, and must have no criminal record.
The age requirement is 18–25 years for General Duty applicants and not more than 28 years for Specialist applicants.
Female candidates must not be pregnant throughout the training period. Physical requirements include a minimum height of 1.67m and chest measurement of 86cm for males, while females must have a minimum height of 1.64m.
Step 2: Confirm Your Qualifications
Applicants seeking General Duty Police Constable positions must have a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
Candidates applying under the Specialist category must possess at least four credits, relevant technical or trade experience of not less than three years, and valid Trade Test Certificates where applicable.
Step 3: Prepare Required Documents
Applicants are required to upload clear soft copies of the following documents:
- First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
- SSCE/NECO or equivalent certificates
- Birth Certificate
- Local Government or State of Origin Certificate
- Specialist applicants must also upload relevant Trade Test Certificates, while those applying for driving-related positions must upload a valid driver’s licence.

Applicants must ensure they have a National Identification Number (NIN), a valid email address, an active phone number, and all required documents available before commencing the application process.
Step 5: Select Your Recruitment Category
Applicants are to apply under only one category:
General Duty: Police Constables
Specialist Roles: Medical Assistants, Drivers, Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Dispatch Riders, Forensic Assistants, EOD-CBRN Operatives, Dog Handlers, Horse Riders, Marine Deckhands, Divers, Engineers, Boat Mechanics, Electricians, Plumbers, Welders, AC/Refrigeration Technicians, Tailors, Communication and IT Technicians, and Band Unit Specialists.
Step 6: Prepare for Screening and Tests
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for physical screening, medical examinations, aptitude tests, and background checks. Only candidates who successfully meet the requirements at each stage will advance in the recruitment process.
