“I Said Build Hospital, you start with motuary”—Gov Eno Scolds Foreign Contractor

A video currently circulating on social media shows Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, voicing dissatisfaction over the pace and order of work on a hospital project in the state.

The footage, shared on Wednesday by Uche Nworah, former Special Adviser on General Duties to the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, captures the governor speaking to a contractor during an inspection visit.

In the video, Eno criticised the contractor for allegedly giving priority to building a mortuary ahead of other essential hospital facilities.

“I said build a hospital and you started with a mortuary. Don’t say that again,” the governor was heard saying.

The video has since sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms.
