Dele Farotimi, the embattled Nigerian human rights lawyer, has been released from prison in Ekiti after being detained by the police for several weeks.

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), disclosed the announcement via his “X” social media account.

‘I am pleased to report that @DeleFarotimi Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!

Recall iDeemlawful reported the human rights lawyer was granted 30million bail with 2sureties.

In addition, he was gagged from honoring media interviews pending the alleged defamation trial.
