What TUC and NLC is saying

TUC President, Festus Osifo, spoke to State House reporters after a rescheduled meeting of the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He expressed that while President Tinubu’s measures were welcomed, they were not comprehensive enough to address all their concerns.

Gbajabiamila’s statement

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, acknowledged that the organised labour was a listening organization and might reconsider the protest after hearing President Tinubu’s national broadcast.

The government appealed to the labour unions to call off the protests to allow for further conversations and dialogue on the issues raised.

What to expect

As the discussions continue, the labour unions are expected to make a final decision regarding the nationwide protest in response to President Tinubu’s interventions.
